35 weeks: 5 to go

Two weeks ago, I was one of those girls that loved being pregnant and didn't want to see my belly go. Well, that came to a quick end recently. I'm done and over being pregnant. Yea, it's a beautiful thing and an amazing experience and blah, blah , blah. But I feel like I have been pregnant for 7 years now. I don't remember what my waist line feels like. I miss being able to put on my shoes without losing my breath. I want to drink beer and eat sushi. I hate having to roll to get out of bed because I can't sit up without my husband assisting me. I miss sleeping on my stomach and I miss running. I want to paint my own toenails and sleep through the night without waking up every hour to pee. But most of all, I'm super anxious to meet my mini :)

How far along? 35 weeks & 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: up 23 lbs

Maternity clothes? I wear some maternity, some old clothes, and some of my hubby's. I am actually currently wearing pre-pregnancy jeans at work--- BUTTONED!! holla! I am kind of bummed that I just discovered Gap Maternity. Their clothes are adorable and they don't even look maternity.

Stretch marks? Nope and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I've been blessed with good genes.

Sleep: I have been sleeping more than ever... Bleh.

Best moment this week: This past week was Thanksgiving, our baby shower, my 26th birthday and my sister was in town. Needless to say, it's been an amazing week and I was ridiculously spoiled.

Movement: This baby never sleeps, I swear. But here's kind of a funny moment- we were laying on the couch last night and we set the remote on my belly. She instantly did some barrel rolls and started kicking it. I think it's so funny how she can't stand anything foreign on my stomach.

Food cravings: I can barely even fit any food in there!

Labor Signs: just a lot Braxton Hicks

Belly Button in or out? Outtie!

Wedding rings on or off? On.

What I miss: I miss ALL THINGS!

What I am looking forward to: Christmas and popping this kid out.

A few pictures from my shower this past weekend.

6 Month Update

Six months came, gone and I'm sure it isn't going to slow down. So, although we are extremely busy (between work, house updates, and preparing for our little), I am trying to enjoy this belly as much as I can! Even though I am extremely anxious to meet her, I know, without a doubt, I will miss the bump when it's gone. SLOW DOWN, life.
We had our 24 week ultrasound to check back up on the previous little problems we were having. I am happy to say that my placenta is moving, slowly but surely. It hasn't moved nearly enough to be able to avoid a Caesarian Section, but my doctor is very confident that by week 32 it will be far enough away from my cervix.  Until then, it just means more ultrasounds and more times we get to see baby girl :)
One thing I found surprising was the fact that she is only measuring in the 27th percentile! With my husband weighing in at almost 12 pounds right out the the womb, I was certain I was going to have a chunky baby.

Tummy is starting to feel real tight! I know it is only going to get bigger, much bigger... But I don't know how!

That's all for now! Just wanted to write a quick post before my pregnancy brain kicked in and made me forget everything :)

SEX (of baby) & 23 Weeks

First off, we are having a GIRL!! I am so giddy about it it's ridiculous. Knowing the sex of the little human that is growing inside me has seriously helped me feel a huge connection towards her. The feeling of it actually being real, and being able to say "her" has me so excited!!

The day after Derrick's birthday is when we found out. I felt REALLY bad that I first talked Derrick into not finding out the sex and then after he got on board, I changed my mind. So I wanted to make it extra special and find out in celebration of his 27th birthday. We dropped the sealed envelope off at our favorite cupcakery, The Union General in Clarkston. They made us super delicious gender reveal cupcakes that we got to bite into with our family (most of them). Even though I know I had a terrible reaction, it was so cool to find out with people you love!

How far along? 23 weeks 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: 9 lbs

Maternity clothes? It's starting to get harder to button my jeans, but maternity jeans are too big around the waist. My shirts are also starting to get shorter and shorter. Only a matter of time now....

Stretch marks? no no no

Sleep: The bigger this belly gets = the harder it is to sleep :/ and sciatia doesn't help!

Best moment this week: Getting a ton of baby girl clothes from my mom (super cute)!! We also got to see her at a 3D ultrasound which was so amazing. So unreal. Made me so in love.

Movement: Lots of movement. I love it that whenever I poke my belly, she kicks back. Derrick says it's mean to poke her, but I think of it as a communication form :)

Food cravings: Fruit, Fruit, Fruit

Gender: GIRL :D

Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks has started!

Belly Button in or out? Surely making its way out..

Wedding rings on or off? On.. Well one.
I almost completely busted 1, so that's getting fixed.

What I miss: Beer... still. And having energy.

What I am looking forward to: Finishing the nursery! And Christmas (haha, did I just say that?!)

Weekly Wisdom: Crying over food is perfectly okay :)

Milestones: Found out the sex of our baby and now people are noticing I'm actually pregnant (and not just fat), hooray!

And a picture from last week...

And here's our beautiful baby girl from our amazing 3D ultrasound experience:

Love, love, love :)

21 Weeks: A/S Results

A week ago, we went in for our 20 week anatomy scan and finally got the results on Friday. I never knew how many complications or things that could go wrong during a pregnancy until now. Not that I have a lot of things going wrong.. you just never think about it before getting pregnant. Let me tell you something, when your doctor tells you when there is an issue in your pregnancy, ask them a lot of questions and DO NOT google it. You will only scare the sh*t out of yourself (I know I did).

The good news: Baby Kratt's heart is very strong and regular. He/She has all their limbs, fingers, both kidneys, 4 chambers of the heart, extremely low chance of Down Syndrome and Spina Bifada, and is growing appropriately. We couldn't be more happy about all of that!

The not-so-good-news: The tech was unable to see the umbilical cord clearly, the amniotic fluid is lower than what the doctor likes, and I have Partial Placenta Previa. The doctor said there could be many reasons to why the amniotic fluid is low and we are just going to have to keep an eye on it. Partial Placenta Previa is when your placenta is lying unusually low in your uterus and is covering part of your cervix. Since I am only 21 weeks, it isn't too big of an issue. In most cases, it will correct itself and "migrate " upwards and out of the way. If it doesn't, then that's a problem. So, the upside to all of this is that we get to see our baby again in 4 weeks to see if anything has changed!

One other things that was able to be seen at our scan is the sex of the baby!! We didn't want to find out in the ultrasound room, so we had our tech seal it in an envelope. We immediately dropped that envelope off at The Union General in Clarkston to make us some gender reveal cupcakes for our closest family and friends. We cannot wait to find out the sex with everyone for Derrick's birthday this Friday! It's driving me crazy!

Even though my pregnancy isn't going as perfectly as I thought/hoped it would, I am still happy and thankful for the perfectly healthy baby in my belly! Stressing and worrying about things that aren't going the way I want is pointless, especially when it is completely out of my hands. Now, I'm off to relax, kick my feet up, and enjoy these precious little kicks :)

Halfway There :)

20 weeks (as of Monday) & time is starting to fly!
I am really starting to enjoy my pregnancy so much that I haven't had time to blog, haha. But seriously, I am loving being pregnant and have never felt so comfortable in my own skin :)
Let's start with the weekly bump shots we missed:

Belly is getting big and fast! Hopefully, starting on week 21, I will put my awesome chalk board to use and start doing my bump shots with that!

How far along? 20 weeks 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: like 8 pounds (I cannot stay off the scale!)

Maternity clothes? I've worn a maternity tank here and there just because it flatters my belly more, but my jeans and clothes still fit!! Except the bras.. I outgrew those a loonnnnggg time ago

Stretch marks? not yet and hopefully never! Keeping my belly oiled up!

Sleep: Sleeping much better than I use to that's for sure. I wake up once or twice a night, but I'm not complaining.

Best moment this week: Ahhh there's too many! These past few weeks have been awesome! Hectic, but awesome. But seeing our baby on Monday at our 20 week anatomy scan with my husband beats it all!
Movement: YES!! Makes me so excited! Little kicks and jabs. Nothing that hurts me but strong enough for my hubby to feel :)

Food cravings: Besides fruit, nothing other than what i usually eat, which I am very happy about.
Gender: No more waiting until birth!! We are finding out next Friday for Derrick's birthday!
Labor Signs: I think I still have a ways to go...
Belly Button in or out? Still in, but almost completely flat! It will be an outtie in no time.
Wedding rings on or off? On
What I miss: Beer... what I would give to have a Blue Moon!
What I am looking forward to: Finding out the sex, shopping and working on the nursery more.
Weekly Wisdom: I might have to hold off on wearing the cute little shoes until after pregnancy is over. I don't know if blisters are worth a few hours of looking cute...... who am I kidding?!? I'm a girl, that's what we do :)
Milestones: Past the halfway point! and no longer feel like I'm in the fat, puffy stage.

Derrick is convinced that bright white line in our twenty week ultrasound (picture above) is a penis. I'm pretty sure it's not... I guess we will see!

One thing we have been working on a little bit is the nursery. I am starting to nest and it is so frustrating when you drive over an hour to get to Ikea to get the one crib you REALLY want and it is discontinued :(  We were told they are suppose to bring it back in a few months, but who wants to wait that long?!
This is phase 1 of the nursery. I have it so planned out in my head what it will look like exactly. But I know it won't turn out like that... hopefully close. Even though we are finding out the sex of the baby, we are still shooting for a neutral-look room. I'm not into super gender-ized rooms or even themed rooms for that matter. I want a serene, calm nursery with a lot of artistic things in it (lots of ETSY). This is one place I CANNOT wait to spend a lot of time in :)
